About the firm

Established in Ahmedabad in 2012, Mehta & Associates is a partnership firm of Chartered Accountants registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
BackgroundHow the firm came to be
The practice was founded by CA Kunal Mehta, a Fellow Chartered Accountant who also holds the ICAI's post-qualification Diploma in Information Systems Audit (DISA). Over fourteen years, the firm has grown from a single-desk tax practice into a two-partner firm handling direct tax, indirect tax, audit and corporate compliance work.
CA Ruchi Shah (ACA) joined as partner and leads the firm's GST and accounting advisory engagements, with particular attention to smaller entities that need steady, year-round compliance support.
The firm's clients include proprietors, partnership firms, LLPs, private limited companies and salaried professionals - largely from Ahmedabad and the wider Gujarat region.

Work to the calendar
Compliance is calendar-driven. The firm maintains due-date trackers for each client so returns and payments are prepared ahead of time, not at the deadline.
Document everything
Positions taken are recorded with their reasoning and supporting law, so that a file can answer questions long after it is closed.
Say what the law says
Advice is confined to what the statute, rules and rulings support. Where the law is unsettled, the client is told so plainly.
