Post-surgical programme

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation in Bhiwandi

Surgery fixes the structure. Rehab restores the function. Our milestone-based programme makes sure the operation you invested in delivers the movement you were promised.

The operation was step one. This is step two.

Ask any orthopaedic surgeon: the difference between a good surgical result and a great one is almost always the rehab. Joints stiffen fast after surgery; muscles weaken within days. A structured programme, started on time, prevents the complications that force patients back to the hospital.

Led by Dr. Priya Shah, our post-surgical programme follows your surgeon's protocol, tracks measurable milestones, and moves between home visits and clinic sessions as your mobility improves.

  • Joint replacement: total knee replacement (TKR), total hip replacement (THR) recovery.
  • Spine surgery: discectomy, laminectomy and fixation rehab with safe-movement training.
  • Fractures & ligament repair: post-plaster stiffness, plate/rod fixation, ACL reconstruction rehab.

Our treatment approach

  1. Protocol review (Day 1)

We study your operation notes and surgeon's protocol, assess wound-site mobility and set the baseline for range and strength.

  2. Early phase - protect & move

Gentle mobilisation, swelling control, circulation exercises and safe transfers - often as home visits in the first weeks.

  3. Middle phase - strength & range

Progressive strengthening and joint-range targets, walking re-training and stair practice at the clinic.

  4. Final phase - independence

Return to daily activities, work and light recreation - with a maintenance plan and surgeon-visible progress summary.

What to expect on your first visit

  • Bring your discharge card, operation notes and the surgeon's physiotherapy instructions.
  • If you can't travel yet, book a home visit - most post-op patients start that way.
  • You'll get a phase-wise plan with clear milestones - so you always know what "on track" looks like.

Who should book this programme?

Anyone with surgery scheduled or recently completed: knee/hip replacement patients, spine surgery patients, people coming out of plaster after a fracture, and ACL reconstruction cases. Booking before surgery ("prehab") is ideal - stronger going in means faster coming out.

Frequently asked questions

When should physiotherapy start after knee replacement surgery?

Usually within 24–48 hours of surgery, as advised by your surgeon - the hospital team handles the first days. Once you're home in Bhiwandi, we continue the protocol seamlessly: early sessions at home, then progressing to the clinic.

Do you coordinate with my operating surgeon?

Yes. We follow the surgeon's written protocol, share progress updates at each milestone and flag anything that needs their attention early. You never have to be the messenger between doctor and physio.

How long is recovery after hip or knee replacement?

Most patients walk confidently with support within 2–3 weeks and return to normal daily activity in 6–12 weeks. Strength keeps improving for up to a year - our programme covers each phase, tapering from frequent sessions to independent maintenance.
